Cassidy rose early in rap battles between the gangs of his hometown a name and could also be heard on several mixtapes circulating locally (then still known as "The Boy B"). He won in his hometown at a radio station a freestyle rap battle. Cassidy grew up with hip- hop, from his parents 'obsessed' were. Cassidy's favorite rappers include Nas & The Notorious BIG. He rose to prominence with his debut studio album Split Personality, which was issued in March 2004 and debuted at the number two spot on the US Billboard 200 Chart.
He is perhaps best known for his singles "Hotel” featuring R. Kelly, "Get No Better" featuring Mashonda, "I'm a Hustla", "B-Boy Stance" and "My Drink n My 2 Step" featuring Swizz Beatz.
